Cary Hollinshead-Strick will present a paper entitled “Embodying Ephemera: Testing Social Legibility on the Vaudeville Stage” at the Nineteenth-Century French Studies Colloquium in Salt Lake City in October 2009.
 
 

 
Cary Hollinshead-Strick received her doctorate in Comparative Literature in 2008 from the University of Pennsylvania and the Sorbonne in a cotutelle arrangement. Her work focuses on theatricality and the press, and on media and the public sphere. Her research and her teaching reflect an interest in cultural studies and in the history of material texts.
