On
November 8, Michael Dorsch will present
his paper "Inefficient Predation,
Information, and Contagious Political
Transitions" at the Séminaire Économie
Publique, Institutions & Organisations,
hosted by Université Paris 1 Panthéon-Sorbonne.

|
Michael Dorsch joined the department of
economics at AUP in 2008, after completing his PhD in
economics at the University of Illinois. Michael began his
academic career at Miami University, where he completed BA's
in economics and international studies, a minor in French,
and an MA in economics. Before accepting a doctoral
fellowship at the University of Illinois, he spent a year
skiing and mountain biking in the Teton mountain range of
northwest Wyoming. As a PhD student at the University of
Illinois, he taught graduate level macroeconomic theory
while completing his dissertation in theoretical political
economy.
Within the economics department at AUP,
he teaches macroeconomics, public economics, international
monetary economics, and econometrics. Additionally, he
teaches quantitative methods and global public policy in the
MPPA and MPL programs.
Professor Dorsch’s current research
focuses on the political economy of development,
environmental protection, and political institutional
change. |
