Islamic Economic Systems co-authored by F. Nomani and A. Rahnema is now a required text for the Islamic Economic Unit in the M.A. program in Islamic Studies at the University of New England in Australia.

 

A chapter of The Secular Miracle co-authored by A. Rahnema and F. Nomani is prescribed reading and the full text recommended as additional reading for the course, "Revolutions and Democratization" at the University of Witwatersand in Johannesburg, South Africa.
 
 

 

Ali Rahnema is interested in the late modern and contemporary history of Iran with an emphasis on the interaction between politics, economics and religion. His comparative and interdisciplinary research has also focused on modern Islamic thinkers and their political, social and economic rendition of Islam as well as the movements resulting from them.
