Marielle Gorissen-van Eenige attended the 13th Pacific Rim College of Psychiatrists Scientific Meeting in Tokyo. The theme of the conference was "Recent Changes in Pacific Rim Psychiatry: Evolution of Multicultural / Multidisciplinary Mental Health."

Mariëlle Gorissen-van Eenige started teaching undergraduate and graduate level courses in biological psychology and neuropsychology at the University of Nijmegen (now Radboud University, the Netherlands) in 1991. From 1995 to 2002, she worked as a clinical neuropsychologist and researcher at psychiatric hospital Meerkanten, where she became head of the Veldwijk Research Institute in 1998. She continued teaching graduate and post-graduate courses on neuropsychology and cognitive neuropsychiatry. In 2000, 2002 and 2003 she went to Nicaragua to teach neuropsychology and psychopathology at universities in León and Matagalpa and to work in humanitarian projects. Since 1991 she has been supervising psychology and medical students in their clinical and research training. In Fall 2005, she joined the undergraduate Psychology program of AUP, teaching courses in experimental psychology, cognitive psychology, biological psychology and learning and memory.

Her doctoral work focused on the effects of benzodiazepines (sleeping pills/anxiolytics) on memory. At Meerkanten hospital, her research focused on neuropsychological assessment in psychiatric populations with a special interest in cognitive deficits in schizophrenia and high functioning autism in adults. After her move to Paris, she first worked as a neuropsychologist at the psychiatric department of hospital La Salpêtrière. Since 2004 she has been working as experimental psychologist at the lab CNRS UMR 7593 Vulnerability, Adaptation and Psychopathology. Her current research there focuses on apathy and emotional flattening in psychiatric disorders. Moreover, she works on tests for neuropsychological assessment and diagnostics in adults with an autistic spectrum disorder. She has translated existing instruments and validates them for the French population. AUP students participate in this research.

Mariëlle Gorissen-van Eenige is a registered health professional in France (ADELI) and a licensed health psychologist (“GZ-psycholoog”) for the Dutch Ministry of Health.
