The world wide shift to democracy, along with the explosive internationalization of markets and information flows have generated a growing need for policy leaders with a robust training in economics and quantitative methods, yet able to both re-frame problems and deal with real world political and institutional complexities to produce policy solutions that are not only efficient, but also politically viable and institutionally sustainable; in short, strategic policy solutions.

The MPA in Strategic Public Policy seeks to provide precisely the kind of education that addresses this need. The main objective of the MPA is to form a new generation of policy makers, policy analysts and public service professionals able to operate effectively in democratic political contexts, and in highly internationalized societal and economic settings to generate and successfully execute policy solutions for the most critical emerging problems of our times.

The MPA in Strategic Public Policy is the flagship degree program of the AUP Graduate School of Government. It has been designed and will be delivered in collaboration with faculty from the NYU Robert F. Wagner Graduate School of Public Service, in the context of the cooperative agreement into which AUP and NYU have entered.
