The Master’s in
Public Policy and International Law (MPL) at The
American University of Paris is a highly competitive,
one-year program that offers students an
interdisciplinary graduate degree in partnership with
Oxford University’s summer program in International
Human Rights Law.
Students acquire
both the fundamental knowledge and the practical skills
necessary to pursue careers in international public
policy and law. The three-semester curriculum provides
the tools for qualitative and quantitative public policy
analysis, as well as a rigorous focus on public,
environmental and human rights law from a uniquely
international perspective.
Class size is
limited to twenty students, ensuring that each cohort
benefits from an extremely attractive faculty-to-student
ratio, and a lively engagement with the international
community in Paris and at Oxford.
AUP’s MPL
program is particularly interested in enrolling dynamic
graduate students who can demonstrate strong research
abilities and leadership skills. Strong candidates will
be committed to academic excellence, have a wide range
of personal, professional, and academic experience, and
aim to pursue an international career in law or public
policy. Successful applicants will most often intend to
work in an international environment and contribute to
the resolution of complex global issues that affect the
public, non-profit, and private sectors; they are, above

candidates have completed a Bachelor’s (with honors) or
