The MA in Public Policy and International Law is a fifty credit program taken over the course of one calendar year.(1)
 
Students must complete the following during the Fall and Spring semesters at AUP:
 
- Eight courses, 4 in public policy, 4 in international law.
 
- One two-credit module, Applied Statistics for Public Policy Analysis
 
- Requirements: Public Policy I; Public Policy II; Micro/Macro Economics; Applied Statistics for Public Policy Analysis; Advanced Quantitative Methods; Public International Law; plus 3 law electives (Comparative Law; Women, Conflict Resolution & International Law; Islam: Religion & Law; Free Expression and the Media: Policy and Law; European Union Law)
 
 
Students must complete the following during the Summer semester:
 
- June: International Criminal Law course (18 hours) and Hague practicum (one-week or 36 hours of court observation and discussion at the International Criminal Court) (2)
 
- July: Oxford summer certificate in International Human Rights Law (3)
 
 
 
 
 
Notes:
 
(1) All three semesters’ of tuition are payable to AUP.
 
(2) The International Criminal Law course and Hague practicum serve as a capstone experience. No thesis will be required.
 
(3) Please note that the Oxford certificate consists of 18 days, including exams, of 5 hours of seat-time per day, for a total of 90 seat-time hours, plus a series of optional lectures. If an AUP student does not pass his or her Oxford exams, then that student will not receive the AUP Master’s degree in Public Policy and International Law.
