Bonjour!
For generations Paris has attracted young people seeking to
discover the world and themselves through intellectual
growth and artistic expression. Located in the heart of
the city, The American University of Paris has been
the academic and social home to students from around the
world for nearly fifty years. As the premier English
language university in France offering a fully accredited
American style liberal arts education, AUP is truly unique.
Similar to small liberal arts universities in America, AUP’s
curriculum is built on a foundation of arts and humanities,
social sciences, and mathematics and the physical sciences,
upon which you can develop a specialization of your choice.
Yet given our location we have certain advantages: we have
Paris as our classroom. We teach art history in the museums
where the art is found. The international business
and global communications lessons in the classroom
are reinforced as soon as you step into the street.
Students study film in one of the major filmmaking
capitals of the world. French studies, comparative literature,
history, international and comparative
politics:
every subject takes on a richer context because of our
unique relationship to Paris.
AUP tends to attract students who are looking for something
a little bit different. Our students represent over 100
countries yet share a singular sense of world citizenry.
They want to study in a truly multicultural environment. We
have filmmakers and aspiring journalists, community
activists and future politicians, linguists and historians,
entrepreneurs and artists. Our students study European
history and art history, English and French
studies, psychology and sociology,
computer science and business,
comparative literature and creative writing.
They specialize in cultural translation; Middle East and
Islamic studies; international relations and public policy;
cross-cultural and sustainable business; film, media and
global communications.
If
you are adventurous, naturally curious, enjoy travel,
meeting people of different cultures and backgrounds,
perhaps want to develop a new language yet study in a
language you already know, then I encourage you to consider
The American University of Paris.
Welcome to The American University of Paris. We look
forward to hearing from you.
