ARC’s Research Room features dedicated workstations with remote access to AUP research databases. Ann Borel, ARC Director and Instructional Librarian, will be on hand to help you navigate the wealth of resources available through the University Library. You may also make research appointments by e-mail (arc@aup.edu) or by calling extension 695.

Each research workstation features a DVD reader and CD-ROM reader/writer. Students are encouraged to save their work to their student storage space or to bring blank CDs or “flash drives,” also known as “memory keys.” There are facilities to ’burn’ DVDs as well (see media station information). We recommend DVD-R format for blank media.

Computer graphics and digital video production stations constitute an exciting, new project in ARC. Editing and montage, image work and recording to DVD are all part of our three-point multimedia corner.

This area features the following components:

Stand-alone Production System: Casablanca Prestige Digital Editing System, TV monitor, trackball mouse

PC graphics: IBM IntelliStation with multi-burner (CD/DVD) and Adobe Premiere Pro production software.

APPLE/MAC DV: PowerMac dual-processor G5, with cinematic monitors and FinalCutPro Express software, iMovie, and iDVD.

Upon request: camera memory card reader and PC headset w/microphones
