The Tenth Annual Meeting of the Latin American and Caribbean Economic Association (LACEA) will be held in Paris, France, on October 27th, 28th and 29th, 2005.

 

 
 

 

This is the first time ever that the event will be held in a non Spanish-speaking country, outside of Latin America. 

The American University of Paris (AUP) is hosting this event as part of its ongoing commitment to provide outstanding teaching and research in the social sciences, arts, and humanities.

 

 
 
 
 

The 2005 LACEA Conference will convene more than 350 participants, including Nobel Laureates, high-level policy makers such as central bankers, ministers and ambassadors, outstanding scholars from around the world, young researchers, students in the social sciences, and members of the business community.

 
 
 

will be a world forum for the exchange of ideas and policy recommendations on critical issues of global concern. Over the course of three days, Latin American economic and social issues will be brought to the attention of European scholars and policy makers, and moreover, will attract the attention of informed, critical thinkers from around the world.

 

 

will substantially contribute to improving transatlantic relations, as high-level representatives of various constituencies from Europe and the Americas will be sitting to discuss key issues regarding Latin America and other developmental-related topics.
