The Tenth Annual Meeting of the Latin American and Caribbean Economic Association (LACEA) will be held in Paris, France on October 27th, 28th and 29th, 2005. The meeting is organized by The American University of Paris (AUP).

 

The Program Committee invites submissions from researchers around the world interested in issues relevant to Latin America in all areas of economics and, in particular, on the following topics:

 

 

Interregional comparative approaches to economic development, growth and inequality

 

Institutional economics

 

Environmental economics

 

Social security regimes

 

Migrations and remittances

 

Economics of regulation

 

The role of China in the world economy and its implications for Latin America

 

Grants versus loans as a source of funding for development

 

Debt sustainability and sovereign default resolution

 

Money and banking (including central banking cooperation)

 

New channels of macroeconomic interdependence between developed and developing countries

 

Global economic history

 

Participation of young scholars and graduate students is strongly encouraged.  A limited amount of financial aid will be available for accepted papers by authors from developing countries.

 

 

 

All papers and abstracts must be written in English and submitted electronically in PDF format.

 

Please note that, unlike previous meetings of LACEA, there will be a one-time only submission deadline.  Your one-time submission including abstract, at least one JEL code and full paper in PDF format, is due by April 30, 2005.
