Background:

The international economy has, during the past few years, witnessed the emergence of two large economies, China and India, which seem designed to play a major role in the coming decades. In Latin America, Brazil has sustained a leading trade performance and, as other Latin American economies, has started to strengthen links with the two giants. This panel will discuss, specially as regards the world trade and investment arena, the possible paths these three economies will follow and the possibilities of both co-operation and conflict among them. An open, lively debate is expected on this aspect of Latin America-Asia interaction.
