Unique in France, AUP offers the flexibility of an American curriculum that encourages you to explore the whole range of humanities, social science, and professional disciplines before choosing a major, encouraging full access to the whole curriculum—from poetry to political science and history to marketing.  This range allows students to find their passion and to prepare for their future.

A three- or four-year degree. 

Students entering with Advanced Placement Exams, an International Baccalaureat,  a French Bac, an Abitur or Maturitat, are able to graduate in three years—or stay for a fourth year and leave with one of our interdisciplinary Master’s degrees.

Unique Graduate Programs. 

Our one- and two-year Master’s programs combine theoretical approaches and hands-on simulations, applications, and group projects designed by professionals in the field. 

Paris is our classroom. 

An urban university spread out under the Eiffel Tower, AUP treats the capital city of Paris as its classroom.   As an AUP student you will stand in front of the paintings you are studying at the Louvre; discover Paris through its architecture and film; and put your fingers on the pulse of the latest developments in communications, literature, international politics, and media. 

An American-style co-curriculum. 

Extra-curricular activities include clubs, athletics, musicals and plays, student journals, student government, and cultural program.   We also have an art gallery, center for writers & translators, and an international Arts Arena.

Not just Paris, but the world.  AUP offers you the chance to take advantage of our enormous opportunities for study abroad—China, South Africa, sister universities across Europe, the Middle East, Central Asia and North Africa, and a new partnership of transatlantic majors with Eugene Lang College of The New School in Greenwich Village, New York City. 

Travel is part of the curriculum.

Our AUP Away program sends students to Fez, Tunis, and India to work with local NGOs on communication strategies and fundraising – and every semester course-aligned study trips cover all of Europe’s major cities. 

Wide internship opportunities. 

Students receive credit for internships in multiple languages, including English, through our Internship Office, and career support on an ongoing basis from Career Services.
