Each year in May, one student research paper is chosen from EN 110
(College Writing) and from EN 120 (Writing and Criticism) to receive
the award. After review by a committee of English and Comparative
Literature faculty, the recipients of the award for 2006-2007 have
been chosen: Kriti Sharma for EN
110 with a paper entitled, "The Conception of Love in John Donne's
'The Flea'"; and Renee Carmichael
for EN 120 with a paper on "Writing: A Way to Incorporate a Past of
Trauma into a Life". The committee applauded Kriti's close reading
of Donne's poem, and was impressed by Renee's understanding of
trauma theory in its application to the work of Georges Perec. |
