To prepare students
for a fuller understanding of today's globalized society and multi-civilizational
world, the degree program in
History and
Social Sciences integrates courses in
history, gender studies, and social sciences – anthropology
and psychology – in such a manner as to relate the content
of courses in one area to that in the other areas.
Recognizing the profound
transformations shaping our world today, the Department of
History and Social Sciences offers an interdisciplinary
degree program, featuring the choice between two Tracks: |
|
|
| |
| |
 |
|
Historical Cultures and Nations |
|
|
|
The Historical Cultures and
Nations Track formulates with its courses
historical narratives that investigate the
legitimization of political languages, social
actions, cultural representations, or
ideological projections. Courses examine public
life within geographical areas, national zones,
or cultural spaces. |

Gender Studies and
Social Cultures |
|
|
|
The Gender Studies and
Social Cultures Track shapes with its courses a
different cultural zone, one where traditional
discourse is altered and transformed through
notions of gender, identity, difference, or
projection. What is investigated is the social
transformation of humans within civilizational
processes. |
