Board of
Trustees Distinguished Teaching Award |
|
|
|
During the graduation ceremony
each year, the Board of Trustees gives its annual

exemplary teaching. It brings all of us back to our
raison d'être, teaching, and emphasizes the

pedagogical excellence. |

Honorary Degree
Recipients |
|
|
|
It is a custom at AUP to confer honorary degrees on
scholars or other prominent personalities as a way
of recognizing a distinguished person’s
contributions to a specific field, or to society in
general. Very often an honorary degree is offered to
signal a recipient’s contributions in areas that
align with the University’s mission and core values. |

Academic Honors |
|
|
|
Academic Honors are a tradition in the
curriculum of AUP. Some degree programs
offer an honors track to exceptionally
motivated students who wish to be challenged
beyond the scope of regular degree
requirements (see degree requirements for
the departments concerned). |

The Sin-Ming Shaw Award
|
|
|
|
This award was
established by Sin-ming Shaw (a former trustee of
The American University of Paris, member of AUP’s second entering class, and recipient
of the 2002 Distinguished Service Alumni
Award) to inspire students across all
disciplines to think creatively and
rigorously. The award, which carries a
monetary prize, is conferred each year on a
graduating senior for a significant project. |
