Although standing next to the other three
pillars in a linear fashion on this section of the AUP website, the
fourth pillar gives dimension to the entire process by setting
students free to combine knowledge, skills, and contexts in new and
undreamt-of ways.
Such AUP students will manifest intellectual
autonomy; participate in contemporary culture; demonstrate
imagination, an openness to new experiences, and flexibility; and
begin to produce knowledge in their own right.
They become lifelong learners, extending
their education far beyond the university.
By contributing to the societies in which
they live through the work they produce and the lives they lead,
students learn to build bridges between their own education and the
future of their families and communities. |
