	Students who have been offered Grants should study the documentation from the Student Finance Center carefully.
	Grants are credited to the student account each semester as a reduction of tuition.
	For US-dollar student loan checks, AUP will apply a University rate which is equal to the monthly official euro/dollar exchange rate.
	Student loan checks are credited once the check has been properly endorsed and submitted to the Bursar's Office.
	Students on the monthly payment plan may deduct one fourth of the amount of the grant from each monthly payment.

Emergency Cash Fund

The Bursar's Office maintains a special emergency fund for students in need of quick cash. Students may borrow up to €100. Emergency Cash Fund loans not repaid in cash within two weeks incur a €1 per day late charge. The Emergency Cash Fund service stops three weeks before the end of the semester and is not available during the summer.

Emergency Loan

For unexpected situations or emergencies requiring more than the €100 Emergency Cash Fund, the Dean of Student Services can authorize emergency loans paid directly to the student and charged to the student's account. To receive an emergency loan, a student's Financially Responsible Person must submit a letter or fax authorizing the loan, and the student's account must be in good standing.

Countersigning Services for Students

The University has a special arrangement with two exchange agencies allowing students to cash personal U.S. dollar checks countersigned by the Bursar's Office. One check for a maximum of US$ 600 can be countersigned every two weeks. The service stops three weeks before the end of the semester and is not available during the summer.
