All students who
have been accepted to The American University of Paris must
obtain a visa for study in France before leaving their country
of origin. This does not apply to students already holding a
valid Carte de Séjour for
France, or European Union (EU) nationals.
|
|
|
|
Information on the procedure
for obtaining the necessary visa is sent from the Office of
Admissions to all students who are accepted. As soon as you are
admitted to the University, you should contact your local French
consulate/embassy immediately to begin the process to obtain
your student visa. Depending on your country of citizenship this
can take several months. |
|
|
|
Students who enter with a student visa may not leave the country
or return a second time unless they have complied with this
requirement. Students who reside in France without the proper
documents are subject to deportation proceedings. It is illegal
for a student to enter France on a tourist visa with the intent
of staying longer than three months. |
|
|
|
Once in France, all non-EU nationals, must apply for a Carte
de Séjour. The Carte de Séjour Office of the
University helps these students to comply with this requirement.
(Please note: EU nationals are no longer required to apply for a
Carte de Séjour.).
