Founded in 1961, The Peace Corps' mission has three simple goals:

1. Helping the people of interested countries in meeting their need for trained men and women.

2. Helping promote a better understanding of Americans on the part of the peoples served.

3. Helping promote a better understanding of other peoples on the part of Americans.

 

Current graduate student Charlotte Elliott will give a talk on Peace Corps service to interested students, faculty and staff, and speak of her two-year experience in Togo, West Africa. Charlotte was a volunteer from 2004-2006 in northern Togo, working on gender equity issues and HIV/AIDS awareness activities.

 

Please note that although all members of the AUP community are welcome to attend this event, only US citizens over the age of 18 are eligible to join the Peace Corps.

What are the career paths in marketing and advertising? What skill sets are Grand Salon needed? What are the pros and cons of working in agencies and corporations? Peter Barnet is a lifelong marketing and advertising executive who joined the AUP faculty in 2002. He has held senior management posts in well-known advertising agencies such as Young & Rubicam, Ogilvy & Mather, and Lintas. He has also led marketing efforts in Europe for Sara Lee. Prof. Barnet has spent thirty-five years building brands for Procter & Gamble, General Mills, General Foods, Kraft, Carnation, Smith Kline Beecham, Kimberly Clarke, Groupe Danone, and Sara Lee. Much of this has been on a global basis. He is a recognized expert on premium marketing, and has lectured on this subject worldwide..

Le groupe Cible:
