The benefits of pursuing an internship include exploring a career, developing skills, making contacts, testing a particular field, and being considered for future job openings.

Internships in France require a convention de stage issued by AUP; a valid carte de séjour is mandatory for all interns who are not French nationals. A strong level of French will greatly increase your chances of obtaining an internship.

Internships pursued for university credit and/or for which a convention de stage is issued involve costs in the form of tuition or fees, as may internships pursued in foreign countries where a visa is required.

An internship search should be proactive and draw from all available resources. It is advisable to begin the search well in advance.

Internships for credit involve providing the proper forms to the Internship Office before the internship begins, and submitting completed assignments within a specific time frame after the internship is completed.

Only current AUP students are eligible to obtain a convention de stage through AUP. Seniors interested in pursuing an internship after completing all course requirements must contact the Registrar’s Office with the understanding that their graduation date will be deferred until the end of their 0-credit internship.
