Dan Gunn's Wool-Gathering or How I Ended Analysis was reviewed in the US by Community Care journal, which called it a "gem of a book"; and in the UK by The Journal of Analytical Psychology, which concluded: "In summary, this is an odd, tender, deeply human, serious and funny book which celebrates the analytic experience by asking 'What on earth is this all about?'"  [AUP - Posted 23 Feb 2004]

 
 

Everyman's Library published Richard Pevear 's translation (done in collaboration with Larissa Volokhonsky) of The Adolescent, by Fyodor Dostoevsky

 

In September 2003, Everyman's Library published Richard Pevear's translation (done in collaboration with Larissa Volokhonsky) of The Adolescent, by Fyodor Dostoevsky. Pevear's article, "The Presence of Pushkin" (a review of Pushkin: A Biography, by T. J. Binyon), was published in the Autumn issue of The Hudson Review. This coming July, Everyman's Library will publish his translation (with Larissa Volokhonsky) of The Complete Short Novels of Anton Chekhov.   [AUP - Posted 23 Feb 2004]

Midstream published "She's a Chandelier" from Gangsters and Gold Diggers by Jerome Charyn

 

In January, Midstream published "She's a Chandelier," a chapter from Gangsters and Gold Diggers (Four Walls Eight Windows, 2003). The book was featured in a column by Margo Jefferson in the New York Times Book Review (November 2004). Douglas Yates invited to present a paper at Oxford University

Douglas Yates has been invited to present a paper at Oxford University. The paper, entitled "The Scramble for African Oil" will be presented at an International Political Science Association conference on "Globalization or Imperialism? Charyn will write an article on "The American New Wave" for 'Die Zeit' and 'Le Nouvel Observateur'.

Die Zeit, Germany's weekly, commissioned Jerome Charyn to write an article on "The American New Wave, 1967-1976", which will be the subject of this year's Berlin Film Festival. The article will be published on February 5 for the opening of the Festival, and will appear in French translation in Le Nouvel Observateur on February 12.   [AUP - Posted 31 Jan 2004]

Hall Gardner was invited to attend the Forum International: Le Choc des Civilisations n’aura pas lieu, held at UNESCO January 17-19, and organized by the non-profit think tank, Euro Mediterranée, under the auspices of President Jacques Chirac. Edith Taïeb was invited by the Délégation aux Droits des Femmes de la préfecture de la Sarthe to give a two-hour lecture entitled: 'Hubertine Auclert: de la ”république dans le ménage” à la ”vraie république” '.
