End or Extend your Internship

Are you interning in France and would like to extend your internship, or end your internship before the agreed end date? Please read the information below and follow the corresponding procedure.

1. Be in touch with the Internship Office if you have any questions or concerns

Please know that the Internship Office is always available to answer your questions. You are encouraged to discuss your situation with the Internship Coordinator before submitting an internship extension or internship termination request.

It is very important to inform the Internship Office of any problems (health, work-or-family-related problems) during your internship so we can provide support and be in contact with your supervisor if needed. We treat any personal information with extreme care and never release it to your supervisor without prior consent.

It is also important to inform the Internship Office if you are offered an extension at the hosting organization where you are currently interning. In fact, the Internship Coordinator must verify under which conditions this is possible and, when applicable, will coordinate with the company to organize the extension of your internship.

2. Submit a request

Internship extension request

An internship extension request may be requested by the student and by the hosting organization. It is subject to the Internship Office’s approval and is not automatically granted.

In all cases, students must submit a formal internship extension request. Please note that specific conditions apply. Internships (including extensions) can only last a maximum of 6 months. See the webform for more details.

Internship termination request

An internship termination request may be made by the student or by the hosting organization. It is subject to the Internship Office’s approval and is not automatically granted. If the hosting organization clearly violates the contract, the AUP Internship Office may also decide to terminate the internship.

Students who wish to terminate their internship must submit a formal early termination request. Please note that specific conditions apply (see webform for more details).

3. Signing an avenant to the convention de stage

If approved by the Internship Office, all three parties to the convention de stage must sign an avenant (additional document which amends the convention de stage or internship contract) to formalize the extension or the termination of the internship. Please note that you may neither extend/continue nor terminate/stop your internship without the avenant being signed by all three parties.

If you have any questions, please don't hesitate to email the Internship Coordinator at: internship@aup.edu

The Internship Office is here to assist you!
