December Transit Strike Update (4)

THIS POST IS A REPUBLISHED VERSION OF AN EMAIL COMMUNICATION SENT BY AUP Vice President for Security, Operations and Student Services Marc Montheard TO STUDENTS ON December 5, 2019, ABOUT THE TRANSIT STRIKE IN PARIS. IT IS PART OF OUR SAFETY & SECURITY BLOG THAT ROUNDS UP ALL THE LATEST NEWS AND UPDATES FOR OUR COMMUNITY.

As mentioned yesterday in our daily forecast email, some metro, bus and tram lines will be working (though with lesser activity than usual). For the most updated info see https://www.ratp.fr/en/travaux-manifestations/manifestations.

As of 1pm today, there will be a demonstration that will combine many unions and some yellow vest activists starting at Gare du Nord, passing through Boulevard Magenta, Place de la République, Boulevard Voltaire and ending Place de la Nation where the demonstration is supposed to disperse by 7pm.

As always, we recommend that you try your best to avoid these areas. This may be more difficult with the transportation strike so please take time to plan out route if you are walking to campus today.

Also, don’t forget to your International SOS app as necessary and keep an eye out for alerts and any relevant updates throughout the day.

Stay safe and be in touch if you have any questions!
