December Transit Strike Update (6)

THIS POST IS A REPUBLISHED VERSION OF AN EMAIL COMMUNICATION SENT BY AUP Vice President for Security, Operations and Student Services Marc Montheard TO STUDENTS ON December 6, 2019, ABOUT THE TRANSIT STRIKE IN PARIS. IT IS PART OF OUR SAFETY & SECURITY BLOG THAT ROUNDS UP ALL THE LATEST NEWS AND UPDATES FOR OUR COMMUNITY.

Our shuttle system to take you to the airport (if and only if you have filled out the webform within the required deadlines) has been in place for the last two days and is working fine: nobody missed their planes!

The shuttles will continue to be operated over the weekend and if you have reserved your spot for Saturday or Sunday, you must have received an email confirmation 24 to 48 hours in advance. If you have reserved for next week, you will receive such an email 24 to 48 hours in advance.

If you are not yet traveling, this weekend is one for staying at home studying for your exams or term papers!

There will be a yellow vest demonstration but (at the very moment I am writing this update) it seems that it might be of a limited scope: they will gather at Bercy from 9am to 11:30am and then will take the following route : Bercy > Austerlitz > Denfert > Pl. de la Catalogne > Porte de Vanves > Porte de Versailles.

There will also be 2 gatherings: one at Montparnasse between 12pm and 2:00pm and the other on at Les Halles starting at 5:00pm.

As always, we urge you to avoid these areas.

The public transportation system will look very similar to what they looked today (see detail below - first for metro, RER and trams and then even more below for buses).
