December 4, 2019

Tomorrow, December 5, 2019 will be the first day of a national strike which will impact transportation. We are informing you about the official estimations as it relates to the impact of the strike on public transportation.

After surveying the students and in an effort to provide assistance to the AUP community to get to Paris airports during the strike, AUP will put in place a service of free buses departing from campus starting on Thursday December 5, 2019 and until the strike ends or until the university closes on December 20, 2019, whichever comes first.

As we approach the December 5th date for the launch of the transit strikes, AUP’s leadership team is taking further precautions and organizing support for our students. We want to share them with you in this letter and invite your cooperation with our efforts.

In two weeks, on the 5th of December, we are expecting a broad transit strike in Paris. Although strikes are a way of life in France—a highly respected democratic practice that we endure seasonally—they are generally conducted peacefully and almost never totally disrupt the entire system.
