Gilets Jaunes Demonstrations Update to Students

This post is a republished version of an email communication sent by AUP Vice President for Security, Operations and Student Services Marc Montheard to current students on March 29, 2019, about the Gilets Jaunes demonstrations. It is part of our Safety & Security blog that rounds up all the latest news and updates for our community.

Dear Students,

Tomorrow, the Yellow Vest movement is calling for another day of demonstrations. Even though according to the social networks, Bordeaux (South West of France) seems to be the main focus (where violent acts are feared), Paris will still witness at least a couple of demonstrations: one  will start at the Gare de l’Est and will merge with the other Place du Châtelet to head towards Trocadéro (see declared itineraries below).

Others may take place around République or Chemin Vert and Place du Mréchal Juin

This Saturday demonstrating on the Champs Elysées and around the National Assembly is prohibited.

As usual several metro station will be closed at different moments of the day. You can find more details on this on www.ratp.fr  or www.sortiraparis.com
