The Plume

The Plume is an online news site that publishes articles each week, focusing on stories both on and off campus. Staff writers come from a diverse variety of global backgrounds, and report in English on a wide array of current events spanning from politics and news to arts and culture. Relevant, current, and hard-hitting, the Plume adds a dynamic international voice to an increasingly powerful digital news community. Guided by student editors and faculty advisors, the Plume staff works closely with the Peacock Magazine and Peacock Play to ensure a consistent flow of dynamic content to the AUP community and beyond.

As part of the Plume, students will learn the art of digital journalism, including relevant technical skills, social media management, and journalistic writing and research skills.

While the Plume does accept freelance, students are strongly encouraged to take the Online News Practicum (CM1851). Each spring, students can also apply for the Plume-contributing course Scripts for Travel (CM3033).

Graduate students can apply for two Plume contributing courses each academic year: the Digital Media Writing Practicum (CM5062) in the fall and Fashion Journalism Practicum (CM4013) in the spring.
