Is beauty really in the eye of the beholder? How much does mass media distort our notion of beauty and body image?
Student Development is teaming up with Communications Professor Hannah Westley and her students to offer this Body Image & the Media workshop. Our goal is to raise awareness of the negative messages conveyed about our own bodies through the mainstream media and to connect the dots with common eating disorders.
Join us in a thoughtful discussion designed to empower you to think more critically about the various and sometimes damaging images and messages forced upon us in films, advertising and social media.
