The George and Irina Schaeffer Center for the Study of Genocide, Human Rights and Conflict Prevention is organizing an international conference titled Understanding Genocides: The Genocide of the Armenians in the Ottoman Empire on April 24 and 25, 2020, at the American Church in Paris. The conference will gather 25 scholars with the goal of presenting the most recent research on the Armenian genocide and its aftermath (reconstruction, memory, justice, denial). There will also be a panel discussion that will connect the Armenian genocide with the Holocaust.

In addition, the movie The Promise (2016), by Terry George, and the documentary Intent to Destroy: Death, Denial and Depiction (2017), by Joe Berlinger, will be screened, followed by discussions.

More information to be released in early 2020.
