Covid-19

Daily Update on Campus Safety and Covid-19

THIS POST IS A REPUBLISHED VERSION OF AN EMAIL COMMUNICATION SENT BY AUP PRESIDENT CELESTE M. SCHENCK ON MARCH 7, 2020, ABOUT COVID-19 AND AUP'S RESPONSE. IT IS PART OF OUR SAFETY & SECURITY BLOG THAT ROUNDS UP ALL THE LATEST NEWS AND UPDATES FOR OUR COMMUNITY.

Thank you for sharing your feedback, concerns and messages of encouragement with me following our daily communication over the past week. How heartening it has been to get such messages of support; I hope we’ve done an equally good job of responding to students and parents with issues to resolve. Let me assure you that our sole focus is on the health of our students and delivery on our educational mission.

The Covid-19 Response Team met again this morning to discuss the situation in France and around the world. We continue to closely monitor all developments and weigh available options as we are getting ready for next week.

I am relieved to share that as of today we still have no suspected or confirmed cases of Covid-19 in our community. The Health Office and Student Development teams are in regular contact with students who are in self-quarantine and any who may be feeling under the weather. Please know all students at AUP are being supported on an individual basis by our staff and faculty. We will ensure that no student will be disadvantaged, whether they are a degree-seeking student here at AUP, or a student from a partner institution. Every single student will get an opportunity to complete their semester, come what may.

If your child should present any of the symptoms associated with Covid-19, along with a fever of over 37.7C or 99.86F, please encourage them to contact the AUP Health Office (healthataup.edu) and International SOS (01 55 63 36 35).

Know that you can reach out to us at any time with your feedback and concerns. Our Parent Relations Manager, Dana Callaghan, is available to answer your questions via email at parentsataup.edu.

Unless the situation in France changes over the weekend, please expect to hear from us again on Monday. The team is monitoring email and phones over the weekend.
