Doha & Bangkok - In Search of the New Globalizing Asia

PO2031 World Politics: Global Challenges

Qatar and Thailand represent two very different monarchist societies withvery different cultures and religions. Visit key political, historic, cultural andreligious sites, such as Wat Pho (reclining Buddha) and Wat Phra Kaew(Emerald Buddha) in Bangkok and the Imam Muhammad in Abd al-WahhabMosque in Doha. Attend lectures in Doha and in Bangkok at ThammasatUniversity, where you meet Thai students. Examine how “globalization” and“democratization” are impacting both of these monarchist societies.

Cost: 1750€ (includes round-trip train transportation, hotel accommodations with breakfast, on-site transportation, entrance fees, guided visits, professors’ trip costs, and VAT)
