Founding Week 2023
Founder's Day Forum and Reception
Registration Required
AUP students, faculty, staff and alumni are invited to the first-ever Founder's Day Forum and Reception, the cornerstone event which begins Founding Week 2023. Guests are invited to gather in the AMEX Café for special academic presentations from two esteemed AUP professors:
- Susan Perry (Professor and Program Director of the MAs in International Affairs)
- Stephen Sawyer (Ballantine-Leavitt Professor of History and Director of the Center for Critical Democracy Studies)
Following the presentation will be a reception offering wine and hors d'oeuvres.
Please note: The event has limited seats and registration is mandatory. All guests will be required to show their AUP ID upon entering the building. Alumni may request their AUP alumni card here: my.aup.edu/webform/alumni-card
ABOUT
March 27, also known as Founder's Day, is when we honor the vision of AUP's founder, Dr. Lloyd A. DeLamater, who believed that higher education could be a powerful vehicle for international cooperation and cultural exchange, a principle upon which he founded ACP/AUP. On this day, the Founder's Day Forum hosts faculty lectures on topics that resonate with this mission, thereby continuing DeLamater's legacy of rigorous academic principles in pursuit of the common good.
