The George and Irina Schaeffer Center for the Study of Genocide, Human Rights and Conflict Prevention regularly host guest speakers, panel discussions, and large-scale conferences at The American University of Paris.
Topics include genocide, Jewish history, mass violence and human rights to colonialism, gender, democracy and acts of resistance. Conversations are often held within the context of education and research, as well as collective and individual memory, as well as historical, ideological or psychological narratives, and more. The centers events have incorporated a multitude of cultural contexts and national backgrounds, including France, Germany, Armenia, Ukraine, Poland, Armenia, Rwanda and more.
