Gilets Jaunes Demonstrations Update to Students

This post is a republished version of an email communication sent by AUP Vice President for Security, Operations and Student Services Marc Montheard to current students on April 27, 2019, about the Gilets Jaunes demonstrations. It is part of our Safety & Security blog that rounds up all the latest news and updates for our community.

Dear Students,

After President Macron’s announcement on Thursday, the Yellow Vest movement has announced two main demonstrations in Paris for today. One focusing on the media networks will start at Maison de la Radio to end at the Conseil Supérieur de l’Audiovisuel while the other will depart from Montparnasse and will head towards Place d’Italie.

As usual several metro stations will be closed at different moments of the day. You can find more details on this on www.ratp.fr or www.sortiraparis.com Also, please note that metro stations Invalides and La Tour Maubourg will be closed for most of the day due to the Formula E race.

Once again, demonstrating on the Champs Elysées and around the National Assembly or Notre-Dame is prohibited.

Please use caution and stay safe!
