Nythamar “Nita” de Oliveira was born in Rio and teaches Ethics and Political Philosophy at the Pontifical Catholic University of Porto Alegre (PUCRS), Brazil, since 1999, where he develops an interdisciplinary research program in Naturalism and Normativity, supported by the National Research Council (CNPq, since 1995), and research projects in Neuroethics (Brain Institute, since 2012) and AI Ethics (2022-26), supported by state research agencies. Nita has also been the Assessment Coordinator of Philosophy programs across Brazil with the federal research agency CAPES (2018-22).
