Based in Lyon, I am an Australian researcher and lecturer working at the intersection of media studies, literature, performance, politics, and contemporary cultural analysis. My recent writing has focused on cultural history and urban politics in Lyon, as well as on American populisms and mediated political discourse, exploring questions of representation, narrative, and power in television and online culture.
I am currently a research associate at Université Lumière Lyon 2 and lecturer at The American University of Paris, where I teach courses in public speaking, media and communication, digital advocacy, and political communication.
I have published work in The Guardian, Critical Quarterly, the International Journal of Critical Cultural Studies, the French arts and cinema journal Mise au Point, and Renewal (a journal of social democracy), among other international academic journals and public-facing magazines. Across these contexts, my work examines the intersections of cultural production, political communication, and mediated publics, with a particular emphasis on how contemporary narratives are shaped through popular discourse.
My current book project examines reality television as a site where cultural representation, political logic, and affective performance converge, reshaping contemporary understandings of truth, authority, and visibility in public life.
