David Sturman is a Senior Lecturer in Computer Science at The American University of Paris, where he teaches courses in web application development and the digital technologies that shape modern society. He holds a B.S. in Computer Science from MIT and a Ph.D. from the MIT Media Lab, where his research focused on computer graphics, animation, and human-computer interaction.
Before joining AUP, Dr. Sturman spent more than four decades as a software engineer, technology executive, and entrepreneur. He has served as CTO or VP of Engineering for startups and established technology companies, including director-level positions at Microsoft and Audible, and was an early pioneer in computer graphics and interactive media. In addition to teaching, he advises private equity firms and technology companies on software engineering, technology strategy, and technical due diligence, bringing current industry experience into the classroom.
