Professor Ryan received her BA in Fine Arts with a concentration in Painting from UCLA then went to receive her MFA in Drawing and Interdisciplinary Arts at UC Berkeley in the United States. She was Full Professor at Colorado State University before arriving at AUP in 2026. She has exhibited nationally and internationally in museums, galleries as well as non-profit spaces. Professor Ryan has been the recipient of numerous awards and grants including the Pollock-Krasner Foundation Grant and the Creative Capital Workshop Grant. Her current research and creative practices incorporate diasporic landscapes and cross cultural immigration.
