Expat power - global Democratic primary

Friday, March 4, 2016 - 15:00 to Saturday, March 5, 2016 - 19:00

Did you know that, besides the 50 US states, the Democrats Abroad Global Presidential Primary is the only electoral mechanism officially and legally recognized by a major political party? The DNC recognizes Democrats Abroad as an official state party and allows it to send delegates to the Democratic Convention!

No other political party has an officially recognized and sanctioned division for its overseas members. This means that the more people who cast their vote in the Democrats Abroad Global Presidential election, the more delegates will be allotted to the Democrats Abroad organization. And this translates to more influence in Washington regarding expat concerns about citizenship, taxes, and other issues.

Any valid member of Democrats Abroad can vote in the Democrats Abroad Presidential Primary - either in person at AUP or by email ballot. So, if you are of a Democratic persuasion, sign up here: http://www.democratsabroad.org/ It does not matter how long you have lived or will live in Paris. Students are absolutely welcome to vote.

For the General election in November, people should vote in their home state (www.votefromabroad.org) However, since you cannot vote twice, do not vote in your home state’s Presidential primary AND the Global Primary.

On the Democrat’s Abroad website, you can find an FAQ, and a "Seven Reasons Why" article. The links are:
