AUP's bookstore is a nonprofit service to AUP students. We’re dedicated to providing books and other educational materials at affordable prices. Books assigned as required or recommended course reading are readily available—along with many other items for the curious mind.

At the end of each semester we have a book buyback where we provide the opportunity for students to sell back a selection of their used course books to the AUP Bookstore. Please note that we do not have a buyback for the summer session.

A selection of what you’ll find

  • books and other materials required for AUP courses (ordered by the professors)
  • dictionaries, writing guides, and reference works
  • enrichment reading on topics ranging from the European Union to the business culture of France
  • books on art history, philosophy, contemporary and classic fiction, international economics, communications, Paris guides, and more
  • AUP faculty publications including Dean Gordon’s The Company You Keep, Professor Feltham's Anatomy of Failure, Professor Roda's Human Attention in Digital Environment, and Professors Gardner and Kobtzeff's The Ashgate Research Companion to War among many others
  • Tekhnema, a journal of philosophy and technology published by AUP
  • AUP clothing and memorabilia

Bookstore buyback policies

The University Bookstore seeks to buy back those books for which we have received a faculty order for Summer Session and Fall 2015. Only the books which appear on the official buyback list are eligible, so make sure you check the list before you come!

Make sure that the book’s publisher, edition, and ISBN/barcode number match the list.

Please note that we may not be able to buy back your textbook for one of the following reasons:

  • The professor no longer uses this text.
  • The course has been dropped from the curriculum.
  • The publisher has advised us of a forthcoming new edition.
  • The textbook has gone out of print.
  • The course is only offered once a year or every other year. In this case, there is a great chance that the book will be on a future semester’s buyback list.
  • Your copy is in an un-saleable condition.
  • We already have a full quota.
  • We cannot buy back photocopies, workbooks that are written in or books with removable pages.
