Registrar's Office

The Registrar’s Office at The American University of Paris offers services to faculty, students and alumni. After carefully reading the following information, please don't hesitate to contact the Registrar's Office with any remaining questions.

Returning students register online on the AUP student portal after meeting with their academic advisors. Registration windows open according to class standing (determined by the number of credits earned and/or transferred in to The American University of Paris). Credits currently in progress are included in the determination of college level.

Scheduling Information

Find current and future scheduling information

All registered, returning students must check-in at the beginning of the semester. At check-in, students confirm they have returned to the University and will be physically present on campus, attending classes. Students also update their contact information.

Student IDs

AUP students are issued one ID each academic year at no cost. Students who have lost their ID or had their ID stolen should request a new ID here.

Official Transcripts

An official transcript is a full record of classes taken and grades earned. Transcripts are necessary for various purposes, including but not limited to applying to universities or job posts. Transcripts can be ordered anytime on the online transcript request form.

The Registrar’s Office provides students and alumni with various certificates that attest to enrollment and graduation.

Academic Forms

The Registrar’s Office handles the processing of many academic forms for undergraduate and graduate students.

Room Reservations

Classrooms and function rooms are available to be reserved for conferences, presentations, and other student, staff and alumni events. Rooms include lecture areas, computer and science labs, a video editing lab, and an art studio. Room reservations must be done through the room reservation tool. Rooms are booked in order of priority: academic courses, university events, recreational/club events.

In May of each year, The American University of Paris holds a commencement ceremony at the Théâtre du Châtelet to confer graduate and undergraduate degrees. Students finishing their degree must complete a degree application in order to participate in the ceremony.

The timeline for diploma distribution for students can be viewed here. Please note that diplomas are not released to those who have any outstanding monetary obligations to the university.

Privacy Policy

AUP's privacy policy complies with both the Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act (FERPA) and the EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR). Students are able to change their personal privacy settings anytime by logging in to their AUP account. You can find more information on your privacy settings and FERPA here.

Services to Veterans

The American University of Paris is a private institution that accepts the post 9-11 GI Bill for veterans of the United States Armed Forces and their families and reviews military transcripts for transfer credit evaluations. However, the University is not a Yellow Ribbon Program University.
