The Uprising -- 6 Countries, 7 Days, 1 Revolution

Wednesday, November 30, 2016 - 15:30

You are invited to a special screening of UK film director Peter Snowdon's film 'The Uprising', a documentary account of the 2011 Arab Revolutions constructed entirely out of found footage, which will take place on Wednesday 30 November at 15h30 in C-104. The film will be introduced by the director who will answer questions following the screening.

Peter Snowdon is an award-winning filmmaker whose work combines documentary, fiction and formal experimentation. His feature-length documentary ‘The Uprising’ creates an imaginary pan-Arab revolution out of online videos shot and uploaded by the actors of the Arab Spring. Described by found footage film guru Craig Baldwin as "a bold, epoch-defining leap forward in doc method", ‘The Uprising’ won the Opus Bonum award for best world documentary at the Jihlava International Documentary Film Festival and has since screened at numerous festivals on four continents. It had its North American premiere at the Museum of Modern Art, New York, in 2014.
