How did the city of Nuremberg become a global symbol for the human rights revolution and a new regime of international law in the twentieth century? Trace the history of Germany, from the medieval period to the present. Stay in one of the most iconic and best preserved German towns,
Rothenburg ob der Tauber, which has a completely intact city wall. This trip coincides with the beginning of the Christmas Market at Rothenburg, which is world famous and has a 500-year history. Trace Nuremberg’s rise as an industrial power, and then examine its tragic twentieth century. Visit the Nazi Rally Grounds and Documentation Center, and the courtroom where the
Nuremberg Criminal Tribunal was held.
