On this study trip, based in Torino and visiting the areas around Alba and Asti, we will be exploring the strategies, branding, sustainability and ethical management strategies and ecologies of the Piedmont region in the North of Italy. As part of this project, the study trip explores the local area, its culture and history, to help us better understand the context of the region and the challenges it faces in terms of de-industrialization, climate change and protection of its natural and cultural heritage. The region is instrumental to Italy’s agricultural, culinary, and fashion industries. A central focus is how this regional cluster of mostly family-run businesses maintains the presence of local craftsmanship to develop a leading position in response to a growing need for sustainable solutions and the growing demands for unique and high quality products and experiences.
