FR1099FFIFB15 - Testimony-Witness-Violence: Ethics and Aesthetics
LW1099CCIFB15 - Law-War-Crime: Legal storytelling in trials
Strasbourg, a city shaped by war, reconciliation, and human rights law, provides a unique setting to examine how testimonies of violence are framed in testimonies and legal discourse. Students will engage with historical sites like the Natzweiler-Struthof concentration camp and legal institutions like the European Court of Human Rights to analyze the intersections between personal testimony and legal narratives. This immersive experience fosters critical reflection on the role of storytelling in shaping collective memory, ethical responsibility, commemoration, and legal accountability in post-conflict societies.
