The Hague study trip

Tuesday, October 6, 2015 - 00:00

Participate in AUP’s annual study trip to the international court system in The Hague. This day trip focuses on the International Criminal Court and the current situations in Congo and the Central African Republic. After a briefing by a member of the Prosecution Team, the group speaks with a representative of the Witness Protection program – a unique initiative to protect victims of humanitarian atrocities as they testify against those who ordered the destruction of their lives. In addition, students sit through a half-day session of the court, an exceptional experience replete with subtle judicial drama. Despite the brevity of our time in the Hague, the study trip provides students with a fascinating, hands-on interaction with one of the great legal experiments of our time.

Expect to leave early morning and return late in the evening.
