Thursday, December 4, 2025 - 18:00 to 19:30

Join us for an evening talk and networking reception, "Digital Forensics & Resilience", with the Atlantic Council’s Digital Forensic Research Lab (DFRLab)—a leading initiative investigating global influence operations and advancing digital resilience. The session will feature a guided discussion with Sayyara Mammadova, Research Associate at DFRLab who leads DFRLab’s capacity-building program, followed by an open Q&A with students, faculty, and invited guests.

Sayyara specializes in disinformation, OSINT, and fact-checking. She oversees the DFRLab's Digital Sherlocks training program dedicated to journalists, civil society, and academics, and serves as an External Assessor with the International Fact-Checking Network (IFCN) and the European Fact-Checking Standards Network (EFCSN).
Together, we will explore the rise of digital crime and disinformation, and how open-source intelligence (OSINT), cyber forensics, and emerging tools are being used to detect and counter online threats in an increasingly interconnected world.

Discussion topics will include:

  • What OSINT is—and how it is used ethically and responsibly
  • Detecting and investigating disinformation and influence operations
  • Tools and methods for identifying coordinated inauthentic behavior
  • Evolving tactics of malicious actors in the age of AI
  • Case examples, including foreign interference and digital repression
  • Opportunities and challenges in building global digital resilience
