"Writing Comics: A changing landscape" with Hannah K Chapman

Wednesday, March 15, 2017 - 17:00 to 19:00

Special with comics writers Hannah K Chapman.

Comics are a global form of communication; they're accessible to all ages, to readers with learning disabilities, and allow us to tell complicated stories and share ideas without the barrier of language. So why aren't more of us writing them? This talk and hands-on workshop will outline the importance of representation and education as a means for new comic creators and voices to emerge.

This event is open to the AUP community. Please read this short story and bring it along to the event: http://www.cabrillo.edu/~ewagner/WOK%20Eng%202/Paz%20-%20The%20Wave.pdf

Hannah K Chapman is a comics writer and editor; she runs Comic Book Slumber Party, Bristol Comic and Zine Fair and has written about comics for Broken Frontier, Forbidden Planet International, and OFFLIFE.
