GPS PROGRAM

Designing Your Narrative (DYN) No.2

Room: Q–609 | Quai d'Orsay Learning Commons | 69, quai d'Orsay
Wednesday, February 12, 2020 - 14:00 to 16:00

This design thinking workshop, now open for ALL seniors (regardless of GPS participation), helps you examine how to connect the dots between your experiences at university and your post-graduation plans. We will talk about what comes next for you: a job or internship, graduate school, launching your own company, etc. We will walk through a series of exercises that will help you reflect on everything you've done at AUP, both in the classroom and outside of it. You will learn some strategies for how to 'pitch' yourself to prospective employers, graduate school admissions decision-makers, investors, etc. And you will be given the guidelines for how to translate all of this into your Final GPS Presentation - the last requirement for your successful completion of the GPS Program!

You will leave the workshop with the tools you need to be confident selling yourself to prospective employers, graduate school admissions decision-makers, investors, etc. - whoever will be your "audience" as you work towards your post-graduation goals.

Your attendance at this workshop also satisfies a requirement for the Global Professional Skills (GPS) Program.

About the GPS Program

The Global Professional Skills (GPS) program launched in the spring of 2017 as a signature program for AUP. It provides you with the opportunity to sharpen critically important skills and develop your own personal narrative throughout college that will benefit your life post-AUP.

If you are an undergraduate, degree-seeking student, you will be encouraged to participate in co-curricular activities during your time at AUP — whether it's volunteering with an international NGO, interning with your dream fashion designer, or participating in one of AUP's many clubs. You generate a co-curricular record (CCR) that registers all of your activities from semester to semester and connects them with your transcripts to boost your career prospects after graduation.
